LAKE is a man made lake, integral to the city’s master plan and
offers water sport facilities like boating and water-skiing. Nek
Chand’s genius created the ROCK GARDEN, a place where works of art
were created out of industrial and urban waste. The largest rose
garden of Asia is here in Chandigarh- the ROSE GARDEN has nearly
1600 varieties of roses. The CAPITAL COMPLEX with the giant OPEN
HAND, the TOWER OF SHADOWS and the GEOMETRIC HILL houses the Legislative
Assembly, the Secretariat and the High Court. SECTOR 17 is the most
fashionable and happening part of Chandigarh.
The YADAVINDRA GARDENS at near-by Pinjore are an excellent blend
of Rajasthani and Mughal styles. The BHIM DEVI TEMPLE and the MANSA
DEVI TEMPLE are thronged by worshippers. The cable car at TIMBER
TRAIL at Parwanoo is a hot favourite. The lake at the hydel project
at BHAKRA-NANGAL is a good spot for a picnic. An ideal week-end
getaway is at the hill resort of KASAULI. Chandigarh is the gateway
to many places like SHIMLA,KULLU-MANALI, DHARAMSHALA,CHAMBA, JAMMU,
AMRITSAR, DELHI and many more.

Rock Garden, the Chhatbir Zoo, a cable car ride at Timber Trail,
the water sports at the Sukhna Lake and last but not the least a
visit to Sector 17 market- which is the prime shopping destination,teeming
with stores and restaurants- are all a must do when in Chandigarh.
