ABOUT THE CITY
Jalandhar, the erstwhile capital of post-partition India, is 147 km from the present day capital, Chandigarh, in the state of Punjab,India. Situated between the river Beas and river Sutlej, Jalandhar is primarily an industrial city. It is well known as the largest producer of sports goods in the country. Jalandhar is distinctly divided in two-a prominent military cantonment and the old city. The people of the city, lively and colourful, enjoy a healthy tradition of eating out.

Jalandhar Weekend TravelHAVELI and RANGLA PUNJAB, the twin eatery outlets, located 10 km from the main city, having a Punjabi village theme base, provide a pleasant experience for its visitors.

The industrial town of LUDHIANA, KARTARPUR- famed for its superior quality furniture, BEAS and AMRITSAR are some of the prominent places well accessible from Jalandhar.

The two main shopping areas of the city are- Ranak Bazaar, for apparel and fabric, and Model Town, for the brand conscious.

All sports goods are to be found at Basti Chowk. Leather goods can be bought on the Kapurthala road. The Great Kebab Factory and Yellow Chillies Restaurant, offer speciality cuisine, while Haveli and Rangla Punjab, offer the ethnic experience.
