The focal point of Mahabaleshwar is the 2.4 k.m LAKE VENNA which offers something for everyone- boating, fishing, horse riding and delicious strawberries during the season. The LING MALA and CHINA MAN’S WATERFALL are at their best post monsoons.

WILSON POINT is Mahabaleshwar’s highest point with a spectacular sunrise. KATE’S POINT with its bird’s eye view of the ribbon like Krishna river is a natural echo point.

Places accessible from Mahabaleshwar are PANCHGANI- the Mecca of Maharashtra, TAPOLA- the mini Kashmir, the old antiquated village at OLD MAHABALESHWAR, the fort at PRATAP GARH, BHILAR TABLE and MEHER BABA CAVES, KAMALGAR FORT, HARRISON’S FOLLY, SYDNEY POINT, DEVIL’S KITCHEN and GANESH TEMPLE at WAI are worth visiting.

Mahabaleshwar and Panchgani together are the largest strawberry producing region of the country- so during the season it’s a must to get some fresh strawberries.

Also, the light traffic here makes cycling a great option. Ornamental walking sticks, chana (whole gram) in different flavours and honey are must buys.
