CITY PALACE, built in 1725, has various palaces inside - Dilkush
Mahal, Sheesh Mahal, Moti Mahal etc. all of which are opulently
and ornately decorated. LAKE PICHOLA, mirroring tranquility and
beauty, is surrounded by hills, palaces, temples and ghats. Situated
amidst are the 2 island palaces- Jag Niwas -The erstwhile summer
residence of the Mewar princes, now a splendid hotel and Jag Mandir-
built with red sandstone with a marble dome.
JAGDISH TEMPLE, SAHELIYON-KI-BARI, PRATAP MEMORIAL are some of the
other spots of historical value.
Other renowned places accessible from UDAIPUR are the forts of CHITTOR-GARH
and KUMBALGARH, the hill resort of Mt ABU, the Jain temples at RANAKPUR
and the shrines at EKLINGJI and NATHDWARA.
